Thermal Paper
WHAT IS THERMAL PAPER AND HOW DOES IT WORK?
Thermal paper is a paper that is coated with colour-forming elements to produce an image when heat is transferred. This heat is transferred from the thermal head that is contained in the compact thermal printer. A thermal head consists of a multitude of miniature heating elements distributed along its printing width. Each heating element is electronically controlled to deliver the correct amount of thermal energy to the right place for the right amount of time.

ADVANTAGES OF THERMAL PRINTING & THERMAL PAPERS
The advantages of using thermal paper & printers are as follows:
  • Very high reliability
  • Easy handling in all applications
  • Few moving parts in the printer and only one consumable being the paper.
  • Low maintenance costs
  • Low noise since a non-impact printing process is employed.
  • Print Speed
  • High Print Definition
  • High functionality under extreme environmental conditions. Some grades of thermal can offer resistance to external substances such as water, oils, adhesives and plasticisers.
